Egeus is the father of Hermia ;

Hermia loves Lysander, but Egeus wants that she marries Demetrius;

Helena is the best friend of Hermia and she loves Demetrius;

Oberon is the king of the fairies and Titania is their queen;

Puck is the servant of Oberon;

Bottom and Peter Quince are some actors;

Duke Theseus is going to marry Hippolyta. 

SUMMARY OF THE STORY

This Shakespeare’s play speaks about two lovers, Hermia and Lysander who couldn’t marry each other because Hermia’s father wants her to marry Demetrius. So Hermia decides to run away with Lysander at night and they told about their plan to Helena. 

Helena goes and tells all the plan to Demetrius because she feels that he will be happy and thankful. 

Meanwhile Hermia and Lysander are lost in the wood and they’re very tired so they lay down on the grass and fell asleep. 

Demetrius is searching for them and Helena is following him. 

At the same time, in the wood Oberon and Titania are arguing about a servant  and they are very angry. 

So Oberon goes away and he sees that Demetrius is very rude with Helena. 

Later, he calls Puck and he says him to take a magical purple flower and to put its juice on Titania and Demetrius’s eyes. 

In this way, when they’ll wake up, they’ll love the first thing they see. 

By mistake, Puck puts the magical juice on Lysander’s eyes: when he wakes up, he saw Helena and he fall in love with her. 

Oberon is very angry with Puck, so he puts the juice on Demetrius’ eyes and goes away. 

Helena is very angry because Lysander is following her, but  Hermia is angry because both of them are in love with Helena.

The four friends start arguing and then the two boys go for a fight for Helena. 

Meanwhile Titania is in love with Bottom, an actor with a donkey’s head because of the magical flower. 

Oberon is very upset so he decides to make things right. 

Lysander is searching Demetrius to fight with him and vice verse until they both are very tired and they lay down on the grass. 

Also Helena and Hermia are sleeping. 

Now Oberon put some magical leaves on the eyes of the four friends and Titania. 

Finally the magic is finished and all is normal. 

The morning, the four friends go to the duke’s wedding and he announced other two weddings: Helena and Demetrius, Lysander and Hermia. 

At night there is a small play and, when everyone goes to bed, Titania, Oberon and other fairies arrived and they wished good luck to everybody.
